Welcome back to The Manhattan Mini! In today’s fashion post, I’m going to share with you one of my new favorite looks, two- piece sets, also known as co-ords! If the term “matching sets” makes you think of a women’s suit set, well than think again! This time around two- piece sets are an epitome of trendy, cute and feminine. And while this print on print comeback has me thinking of Cher’s yellow plaid two-piece outfit in the movie Clueless, I’m thankful that the sets have evolved since they were last popular in the 90’s.
Two piece sets come in a variety of different styles including, shorts & top, skirt & top, and pants & top. My personal favorite is the skirt and top combo because I like to think of it as a fresh new take on dresses! Apart from being totally cute and chic, two piece sets are actually genius. Many stores sell the two pieces of the outfit for one price. Which is a win- win for us because we now have three new outfits! Now you may be thinking how can one, two- piece set provide me with three new outfits?! Well, both pieces can also be worn as separates, meaning it will work overtime for your wardrobe! So let me break it down for you:
Outfit #1- The two- piece set.
Outfit #2- The top to your two-piece set with a bottom of your choice; jeans, shorts, skirt,
Outfit #3- The bottoms to your two piece set with a top of your choice. Tip: When matching a top to the bottom of your two-piece set try to pick one color out of the print, or design and wear that. For example, with the outfit I’m wearing in this blog post I would wear a plain black top.
I also love how two-piece sets aren’t body shape specific. If hard edge, high fashion sets with crazy prints and designs aren’t your thing because you don’t think it will look good on you, not to worry! These sets are also available in basic colors such as black, blue, gray & white and look just as cute! If you want an idea on what that looks like check out my last blog post “Six- year Anniversary Recap” where you will see me wearing a much more basic two-piece. All in all, I think that two-piece sets are perfect for girls who aren’t into accessorizing, because these outfits speak for themselves. Wearing little to no jewelry with a two-piece set is perfectly okay, because your outfit is sure to make a statement! I hope this post has inspired you to go out and buy a two- piece set, If you’re wondering where to find cute sets for a reasonable price I recommend checking out Boohoo, Tobi, and Misguided! Just search Co-Ord set, or Two-piece set and happy shopping!
