Sometimes stepping outside of your comfort zone and wearing an outfit you normally wouldn’t can have a really positive effect on your mood. If you asked me back in high school if I would ever wear white booties, a pink sweater and light wash jeans in the middle of winter; the answer would without a doubt be “NO.” Nevertheless, when I wore this outfit for a day in Long Island City, I was non-stop obsessing over this outfit.
No matter how many turned heads, or questionable looks I received this day, I didn’t mind it. As a matter of fact, I learned to love it. This is because it makes me feel like I put together a unique outfit that’s worth taking a second look at. Or it could be the white booties… (haha).
With that being said, I challenge all of you to step out of your comfort zone next time you go shopping. Buy something you love but would normally say “I could never wear that!” Style it however you’d like, but make sure when you look in the mirror you say to yourself “I can’t believe I’m wearing this!” Then go out for a day, or night out with the girls and see for yourself how different your mood is! When I wore these Spring/Summer colors in the middle of winter I was beyond happy, and confident in myself. Fashion is all about pushing limits, and experimenting with different looks. I recently wore white jeans in the middle of winter because WHY NOT!? Wear what you love, not what you feel like you have to wear. Don’t worry about what others will think, as long as your happy and feel good that’s all that matters! Dress for you, and no one else.
After all don’t they say that life begins at the end of your comfort zone?
