Mad For Plaid

Mad For Plaid

Each year when the Fall season rolls around, I notice that my closet has what I like to call “Fall staples.” These are pieces that I’ve had year, after year and yet they never seem to go completely out of style. One of my favorite Fall staples is the plaid print! Flannels, blazers, dresses and even shoes are a few pieces I have in my wardrobe with plaid. I mean seriously if there is one pattern that emanates the essence of fall it’s definitely plaid.

Since it’s still very warm here in New York, I decided that I needed to add a plaid mini skirt to my wardrobe, to keep cool but still look Fall ready! Once I saw the plaid print, and knot detail, I knew that I had to have this skirt in my life. I purchased this plaid mini from Target’s WhoWhatWear Collection. Which target likes to call “a collection of effortless and chic streetwear for all,” and I personally couldn’t agree more with that statement. This collection is extremely affordable but also super trendy, and cute. The collection includes tops, pants, skirts, dresses, shoes and accessories all for extremely reasonable prices, and top quality. I highly recommend hitting your local Target and shopping this collection if you’re looking for a Fall wardrobe refresh!

The best part about plaid skirts is that there are so many ways to wear them. You can channel your inner Blair Waldorf or Cher from Clueless and throw on a white button down, and black blazer. Or wear your plaid skirt with a lace cami, black leather jacket and moto boots for a sexy tough look. Lastly you could grab a light sweater and tuck it in allowing you to look girly but also super comfy. I personally was going for the Blair Waldorf look here, but it was just too hot to wear my blazer when I was shooting this look… blogger problems (haha). So I settled on wearing a super cute cross- neck top from Mystique Boutique. I loved the way the black top, complimented the print, making the skirt POP! There are tons of ways to style a plaid skirt you just need to decide what type of look you’re going for, and the possibilities are endless. Happy styling!

Thank you! I don’t like to go too crazy when I wear prints. Keeping the top simple, will leave you looking chic, yet trendy! xox
